Impossibles does not get very crowded, because it is such a long stretch of reef there are a few different take off spots. This wave when lining up good can be a very long and fast wave, usually when wave height gets above 5ft and the tide is mid range you can expect some very long waves.
Padang Padang - Bali Surfing
Padang Padang only starts to work when we have a big swell running. A sealed road will take you all the way to the top of the stairs that take you down to a beautiful beach in front of the reef. With easy paddle out through the channel.

Padang Padang because of it's world wide fame can get dangerously crowded. There are usually heavy vibes in the water, and tempers often flare due to drop ins. But if you catch it early morn with the right conditions it's something you will remember for the rest of your days.
Serangan - Bali Surfing
Once again you have to follow the By Pass Road to Sanur, but about half way there from Kuta you will see a mega wholesale store called the Makro just before the Makro on the opposite side of the road there is a new unsealed limestone road(white rock) turn in there and it will take down to the waves.

This place does get crowded, not very long ago this was a secret spot.
Bingin - Bali Surfing
Bingin is the next reef south of Balangan Bali Surfing, for the most part it's always been pretty easy to find. Traveling from the Kuta area your on a good sealed road, but be warned the last 500 mtrs of unsealed road is bad, very bad. The reef is close to shore and only a short paddle out.

Bingin gets very crowded through the peak season, and the worst thing is there is only one small take off area. The wave itself is pretty mechanical, but only short. Take off pull in flick out.
Balangan - Bali Surfing
Balangan is located down towards the southern peninsula, it used to be a hard place to find but now there is a sealed road that will just about take you all the way in there. The reef is right infront of the beach and only a short paddle out required.

Crowds were never a worry at Balangan before the new road went in, but now with the easy access, it is starting to get more and more surfers around there. The wave itself is very fast and hollow best on the mid to high tide.
Sanur - Bali Surfing
There are two main reefs at Sanur, Sanur reef and Tandjung reef. To get there just follow the main road (Bye Pass Road) to Sanur and turn right at either of the two sets of traffic lights in Sanur.

These places need a lot of swell for them to work properly. If it's maxing out at Nusa Dua you will find perfect right handers breaking at these spots. The locals here are very wave hungry and possesive of their waves which can make it hard to get waves when it's under 5ft.
Uluwatu - Bali Surfing
Uluwatu is situated at the southern end of Bali, these days you can drive or ride all the way to the warungs on a sealed road. There are 4 different sections at Ulu; there's Temples which is a long and hollow wave that works on the mid to high tide. The Peak right in front of the warungs in line with the cave also best on the high tide. Racetrack is a super fast but makeable barrel that works on the low tide, but gets seriously shallow. Outside corner is considered by many to be one of the best waves anywhere in the world, the corner won't even start to break unless the swell is at least in the 8' range, and then if your game you are in for one long and fast ride.

Uluwatu can get very crowded when the swell is in the 2-5ft range during the dry season, but when the corners breaking crowds are not much of a worry. Plus the crowds do tend to spread out between Temples and the Peak.
Kuta Reef - Bali Surfing
Kuta Reef is located about 800 mtrs offshore, infront of the Sandi Phala Motel. The best way to get out there is by paying one of the local boat operators a few dollars to run you out and then to come and pick you back up when your finished having fun.

Due to Kuta Reefs central location it can get very crowded, sometimes up 60 surfers in the water. But, there are all types of different levels of surfer, so there's always a few waves to be had. Kuta Reef, when the conditions are right is a world class lefthander! With waves winding out for up to 200 mtrs and a couple of good hollow barrel sections as well.
Airport Left - Bali Surfing
Airport left is as the name says in front of the airport runway in Tuban, about 1.5 kms south of Kuta Reef and about 1km offshore. Once again, the go is to hire a local boat to get yourself out there, that way you can save your energy for the waves.

Airport left can also get crowded, and is a favourite with Japanese surfers. It's not a super hollow or powerful wave and the waves only run for about 50-70 mtrs.
Airport Rights - Bali Surfing
Airport Rights is situated on the southern side of the airport runway, you can't see this wave from Kuta. The only way out here is by hiring a boat and you have to expect to pay a little bit extra as its a lot further out than the rest of the reefs in this area.

If the swell is up at the reefs in the Kuta area it's well worth the trip around to Airport rights. It takes a bit of swell before this place starts to work. But if you have a high tide in the morning and a good swell to go with it, you can bet the rights are going off. Airport right is a classic right hand wave with rides up to 100+mtrs. When it's in the 2-4ft range you can expect it to be crowded.
Nusa Dua - Bali Surfing
To get to this reef you have to drive in to the town itself and then weave your way south, there are a couple of other good waves in this area also so it pays to do a bit of exploring.

Nusa Dua can get crowded, but there are at least three different take off spots on this long stretch of reef. Wet season crowds are no where as bad as in the dry season. This is a powerful wave with some good tube sections, but there is usually a b current that works against you. The reef is around 500 mtrs offshore and it's better to hire a boat and save your energy for the current.
Green Balls - Bali Surfing
To get to Green Balls just head out towards Ulu and follow the signs to the Bali Cliff resort and you're there.

Green Balls is situated at the bottom of a cliff, to get down there you have to follow a stair case of around 500 odd sized steps. No worries going down but after you have been surfing for a couple of hours the return leg is a bit harder. You can always pay someone a couple of dollars to carry your things for you to make it a bit easier, crowds are not a problem here.
Medewi West - Bali Surfing
To get to Medewi you have to drive north west from Kuta for around 2-2.5 hours of hell traffic, best to leave early in the morning and beat most of it. There are also heaps of good river mouth set ups along the way, and rarely anyone surfing them. Just head towards Tabanan and keep following the main road.
Wet/Dry Season

I've never had a problem with crowds up there, I think due to the distance from Kuta you have to travel. Also, because there are no night clubs for the party crew. You will also find the locals very friendly in and out of the surf. It is definately a long workable wave, but you won't find to many tube sections up there.
